The Municipal Theater of Rio de Janeiro celebrates its 100th anniversary.

The 6th National Piano Competition of Brazilian Music “Spartaco Rossi”, an edition honoring Osvaldo Lacerda, was held at the Tatuí Conservatory, SP. First Round: 1st Place – Lucas Santos de Souza (São Paulo-SP); 2nd Place – Francine de Moraes Dias (Tatuí-SP); 3rd Place – Milene Giulia da Silva Antunes (Tatuí-SP). Honorable Mentions: Gabriel Zitelli Dantas (Tatuí-SP), Gabriela Figueiredo Campos (Sorocaba-SP) and Milene de Souza Dias (Tatuí-SP). Second Round: 1st Place – Felipe de Souza (Sorocaba-SP); 2nd Place – Isabela da Costa Barbosa (Sorocaba-SP); 3rd Place – Anisteli Fernandes C. de Oliveira (Tatuí-SP). Honorable Mentions: André Oliveira Françani (Tatuí-SP), Caroline A. Garófalo (Cerquilho-SP) and Driele Rodrigues (Tatuí-SP). April 4. Linda Bustani performs Brahms' Piano Concerto No. 1 as a soloist with the Campinas Municipal Symphony Orchestra conducted by Lígia Amadio. Carlos Gomes Cultural Center, Campinas (SP).

New Quintet Show, formed by Maria Teresa Madeira (piano), Henrique Cazes (cavaquinho), Marcos Nimrichter (accordion), Ornar Cavalheiro (double bass), Oscar Bolão (double bass), and featuring Leo Gandelman (saxophone), with music by Tom Jobim and Radamés Gnattali, with arrangements by Radamés Gnattali, Cliff Korman and Henrique Cazes.
