The Leopoldo Miguez Hall of the National Institute of Music (now the School of Music of UFRJ) is inaugurated on February 13th.

February 13. This is the first day of the Week of Modern Art at the Municipal Theater of São Paulo. June 22. June 22nd. Recital by Alexander Brailowsky with works by Liszt (Sonata), Chopin, Schumann, Mussorgsky (last 2 pieces from Pictures at an Exhibition), Stravinsky and Liszt. A total of 4 encores were performed. This first recital and the second on June 24th were played to empty houses. Critics Oscar Guanabarino, Borgongini and Arthur Imbassahy began to advertise in their newspaper columns. From the 3rd concert onwards, on June 25th, the audience grew, and then the auditorium became packed.

August 14. Cuban pianist Joaquín Nin performs Bach's Piano Concerto No. 1 in D minor with the French quartet Le Feuve (Gaston Le Feuve, Edouard Buntschu, Tulien Chedel, and Gabriel Buntschu). Nin also plays solo piano pieces by Couperin, Scarlatti, Soler, and Mateo Albéniz (first Brazilian performance of the Piano Sonata in D major).

September 7. Aussenac for the São Paulo Society of Artistic Culture. September 7th. Radio Sociedade do Rio de Janeiro is inaugurated (the first radio station in Brazil, carrying out the first radio transmission in the country), founded by Edgar Roquette Pinto. In 1936, it was donated to the Brazilian government and, from then on, was called Rádio Ministério da Educação e Cultura (Rádio MEC). Its headquarters houses the Maestro Alceo Bocchino Symphonic Studio. At its peak, Radio MEC boasted a Symphony Orchestra (National Symphony Orchestra), a Chamber Orchestra, the Radio MEC Choir, the Radio MEC Trio, the Radio MEC String Quartet, the Radio MEC Wind Quintet, the Radio MEC Vocal Quartet, as well as various duos and soloists. Numerous pianists recorded for Radio MEC, including Aloysio de Alencar Pinto, Arnaldo Rebello, Radamés Gnattali and Aída Gnattali, Illara Gomes Grosso, Alceo Bocchino (pianist and conductor), Arnaldo Estrella, Francisco Mignone, Camargo Guarnieri, Honorina Silva, Ana Candida, Lais de Souza Brasil, Ana Stella Schic, Julia Monteiro, Yara Bernette, among many others. AM 800 kHz and FM 98.9 MHz frequencies. Currently part of the EBC Radio system.
